Kristin Girvin Redman founded Cricket Design Works in 2002, a creative agency that uses graphic design, interactive design and branding as tools to improve understanding, connect people around a common goal, and to live better lives in a more beautiful world. Today she leads a group of designers, writers and developers in collaboration with a mix of non-profit and for-profit clients to foster clarity, order and understanding from complexity using principles of human behavior, wayfinding and design.
She studied graphic design at RISD before going on to receive an M.S. in Oceanography and Limnology from UW-Madison. Her favorite part of her graduate work was making charts, maps and graphs of her data and using visuals to illuminate, patterns. During graduate school, she received a patent for evaluating toxicity of estrogenic compounds of using videography of water fleas (Daphnia Magna). She is a supporting member of the American Institute of Graphic Artists and served on the board of Design Madison for many years.
